Conference on Participatory Innovation in Spain

Friday,18 May 2018

On 10th May the CEPC hosted a conference on participatory innovations in Spain. The act was organised alongside the Grupo de Investigación en Gobierno, Administración y Políticas Públicas (GIGAPP) and representatives from all over the country attended to give their contributions.

The conference was made up of three tracks in which these respresentatives presented innovations from their respective administrations and councils. Each of them had implemented a different strategy to encourage participation in their community, from Alcobendas where they have started to explore the possibilities of Blockchain, to the Basque Country where they are using an online platform to create a shared memory of the violence that occurred there.

For Beatriz Palacio and Eduardo Taid from Aragón, it is about creating “a social network, which is different from social networks”. This sentiment was shared by the other speakers, who each showed the various forms that innovation can take.
