Resumen
Las princesas y las reinas constituyeron un grupo restringido de mujeres, cuyo protagonismo en los acontecimientos políticos y culturales del pasado cada vez es tenido más en cuenta. De ahí la importancia de conocer su educación y, dentro de ella, la impronta de las madres sobre las hijas. Mujeres de generaciones distintas que evidencian en su correspondencia los trazos a través de los cuales se va moldeando el oficio de reinar. La relación de Isabel Farnesio con sus hijas y nuera o la de María Luisa de Parma con las suyas, ejemplarizan bien el intento consciente de convertirlas no tanto en consortes ejemplares, como en reinas capaces de favorecer sus intereses familiares y de ayudar e, incluso, suplir a sus regios esposos en la tarea de gobierno. Una relación, fundada en el afecto, que permite comprobar, a través del estilo de las cartas, cómo la complejidad política se expresa a través de los cauces de la privacidad. El problema fue que, a finales del siglo XVIII, princesas e infantas no quisieron o no pudieron seguir el modelo de sus antecesoras, de manera que, antes de que cayeran los tronos, no solo su reputación, sino su posición dentro de la monarquía se fue debilitando.

Abstract
The princesses and the queens consisted of restricted group of women, whose protagonism in the political and cultural events of the past is considered more and more interesting. Hence, the importance of knowing their education and, within, the mark of mothers over the daughters. Women of different generations who demonstrate in their correspondence the outlines across has been molded the function of reigning. Isabel Farnesio’s relationship with her daughters and daughter-in-law or Maria Luisa of Parma with hers, exemplify well the conscious attempt of turning them not so much into exemplary consorts, but into queens capable of taking care of her family interests and of helping and, even, of replacing his royal spouses in the task of government. A relation founded through the affection, which allows to verification through the style of the letters, how the political complexity is expressed within the margins of the privacy. The problem was that, at the end of the 18th century, princesses and infantas did not want or could not pursue the model of their predecessors, so that, before the thrones fell the thrones, not only their reputation, but their position within the monarchy was weakened.
