Resumen
En el presente trabajo se analizan los recientes cambios en el sistema electoral alemán, la influencia del Tribunal Constitucional federal alemán en el actual sistema, y los primeros resultados arrojados en las recientes elecciones de febrero de 2025. El artículo se centra en la cuestión quizá más polémica: el hecho de que, por primera vez en la historia, veintitrés personas candidatas de diferentes partidos políticos se quedaron sin poder acceder a sus escaños, a pesar de haber vencido en sus distritos uninominales. La consecuencia es que esos distritos, de entre los 299 totales, han quedado sin representación en el Bundestag. Esto plantea problemas relativos al concepto de representación política y su dimensión actual, que se abordan en la parte final del artículo.

Abstract
This paper analyzes the recent changes in the German electoral system, the influence of the German Federal Constitutional Court on the current system, and the first results of the recent elections of February 2025. The article focuses on what is perhaps the most controversial issue: the fact that, for the first time in history, 23 candidates from different political parties were unable to take their seats, despite having won in their single-member constituencies. The consequence is that these districts, out of the 299 total, have been left without representation in the Bundestag. This raises problems related to the concept of political representation and its current dimension, which are addressed in the final part of the article.
